In September Emily started at Salford University assisting on the First Year clinics helping to educate and mentor the next generation of Podiatrists. Emily completed her Podiatry degree at Salford over 10years ago. Going back to the roots is where Emily has found a new passion for education. After having a wave of students attend mentoring sessions at Thornton Podiatry, it grew Emily’s passion to want to give more. I’m sure you can join us in congratulating Emily within this new role.

Emma who has previously worked within the NHS Podiatry service has opened a Tuesday up for patients. Instantly filling up to full due to the growing demand of the Podiatry service we offer.

Emily loving her gadget, the digital Doppler, enhancing our vascular assessment has really proved a hit with our patients new and old. What is a doppler, and why do Podiatrists use them? A doppler is a non-invasive medical imaging technique to measure the speed and direction of blood flow in the feet. It can tell us a basic level of blood flow to your feet. We have always used a doppler but this one in particular is more accurate and gives us a better view of your circulation. Extremely important in those with diabetes and heavy smokers.
